Putting your own creativity on any shoe takes guts, especially a pair that fetches top dollar. Sole Swap took the release of the year to another level, expanding on a theme that was already pushing the limits. Conversely, Mache provided his own social commentary on the “South Beach” craze, poking fun at the popular motif by going all-Miami-everything. Both pairs received mixed reviews, but is that not what great art is all about?

The mid-90s basketball well is near tapped and there’s already an abundance of “Bulls” colorway kicks. So why hasn’t the Nike Air Max CW retroed in the White/Black-True Red colorway? Or better yet, why do we want it? As stated, there are plenty of existing alternatives to this sneaker, but something makes this pair special. Perhaps it’s the way the two-tone color blocking defies convention and highlights the design, or maybe it was the newfound nostalgia between Webber and Nike in DC. Whatever it was, we like these. We’re cool with the Sensation name change; just bring ‘em back!

In addition to hosting back-to-back games in the Lakers vs. Thunder series, the world-class arena is also in the midst of hosting back-to-back games in the Clippers vs. Spurs series and playoff games for the Kings, Los Angeles’ professional hockey team. Additionally, Staples is the center of attention in our Kicks On Court column today. In the first matchup there yesterday, we spotted Nick Young in the “First Game” Nike Air Zoom Generation. If you recall, this was the very shoe LeBron James played his first NBA game in back in October of 2003, hence the nickname of this shoe. In the second bout, the Black Mamba celebrated Christmas in May by rocking the “Christmas/Cheetah” Kobe VIIs in a loss to the Thunder. You may remember Kobe bringing these out during the first game of the 2011-2012 NBA season on Christmas Day. Nick Young and Kobe Bryant shared the spotlight today, but who rocked the best shoes on court between the two? Let us know in the voting poll below.
